Jaee Kwon

Senior Industrial Designer, PA Consulting

Born in Korea and educated in both Korea and the USA, Jaee graduated from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. She honed her skills at design consulting firms in the dynamic environments of the Bay Area and Seoul, gaining a broad perspective on design. Since joining Astro and PA, Jaee has been instrumental in collaborating with major consumer electronics companies worldwide, bringing a diverse and innovative approach to each project. 





Robin Marich

Creative Director, Backbone

Robin Marich brings over 17 years of experience in branding, print, advertising, and digital design, working for some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Toyota, Wildtype, Bose, Western Digital, and currently Backbone. Her expertise lies in blending strategy, design, and technology to create impactful and long-lasting experiences.




Shujan Bertrand

Founder, Aplat
Chair of Industrial Design,
California College of the Arts

Shujan (Shu) Bertrand, head of the Industrial Design and Furniture Program at the California College of the Arts, is a dynamic industrial designer and creative consultant renowned for her commitment to sustainability and human-centered design. With international experience in Paris, Milan, and Seoul, Shu excels in transforming insights into innovative products and business opportunities. Her impressive portfolio includes work with Astro Studios, Incase, and Steelcase in the Bay Area.

In 2014, Shu founded Aplat, a soft-goods culinary design company inspired by her love for family gatherings and sustainable design. Aplat’s zero-waste principles, rooted in origami and the golden ratio, reflect Shu’s dedication to slow living and the slow food movement.




Stephanie Lee

Independent Designer

Stephanie Lee is a leading interaction designer specializing in developing experiences for new technologies. She works on a large range of projects designing autonomous robots, wearables, connected medical devices and eco-systems. She has held positions as the Director of Experience and Strategy Design at NewDealDesign and as a lead designer at Google and at the MIT Design Lab. She studied Design at Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and Computer Science at Wellesley College.
