Portfolio Bootcamp
Reid Schlegel
Work with a seasoned intern coordinator and hiring manager to evaluate and rework your design portfolio to meet the standards of top tier design consulting firms. Through weekly presentations, group critiques and one on one reviews, each student will tackle each of the major elements needed in an industrial design portfolio to tell a cohesive process story.

Each student will choose one existing portfolio project and rework it over the duration of the course. In class 1 each student will present their selected project to the class for critique in order to create a prioritized list of areas for improvement. Weekly lessons will focus on portfolio formatting, about me sections/resumes, project introductions, mood boarding, research, sketch pages, prototyping/CAD modeling, final renders and telling an overall cohesive story.
Each class will be broken down into 30 minutes of instructor presentation and 90 minutes of homework critique; approximately fifteen minutes per student per class. The course will culminate in a final portfolio critique with the instructor and two additional industry professionals.
Reid Schlegel
Reid Schlegel is a NYC based industrial designer and illustrator with a solid history working in the design consulting and education space. Reid is the founder and design director of RS.D and previously worked at HUGE, Aruliden, frog and SMART Design. As a design educator Reid teaches at the Parsons School of Design and Kean University while also visiting universities globally to guest lecture and teach his design process methodologies and design skills.
Additionally, Reid runs an Instagram account with 130k+ followers showcasing his work and other design related content. In his free time Reid can be found in upstate New York building custom cabins.
