Housewares

with Carter McGuyer

Offsite Intermediate
The Housewares course focuses on creating useful and thoughtful products for the home. Students will study everyday needs, changing lifestyles, new technologies, accessibility, and sustainability to identify design opportunities. Through research, concept development, and design refinement, students will create original housewares ideas that are practical, relevant, and well resolved. By the end of the course, each student will have developed a strong product concept worthy of inclusion in a professional design portfolio.

Offsite Intermediate courses are designed for students who already have a basic foundation in industrial design, including form, aesthetics, sketching, 3D modeling, and rendering. If you’re still building these skills, we recommend starting with one of our introductory courses so you can get the most out of the experience.
