Sketching II

Spencer Nugent

Sketching II is an analog-focused class that delves deeper into the art of hand sketching. Building on the fundamentals taught by Hector Silva, this course emphasizes rapid visualization for ideation, form development, and advanced presentation techniques. The curriculum is structured around three core areas: structure, which covers the basics of perspective, form, proportion, and composition; substance, which involves creating functional sketches that enhance structural concepts; and style, focusing on lighting and effects, advanced perspective, and integrating backgrounds and props.
Throughout this course, you will refine your perspective drawing skills, understand how to effectively use light, shadow, and reflections, represent materials realistically in your sketches, improve drawing accuracy, and use sketching as a tool to solve design problems.

Offsite Pro

Completion of a beginner sketch class is required. Participants should have a basic understanding of 1-point and 2-point perspective drawing. Familiarity with using markers, pencils, and pens, and comfort in drawing with these tools are also necessary.
